Amaurobiidae Back to front

The weather is definitely getting colder!!

I found this handsome spider making a home in the gap of a missing tile in the downstairs bathroom. At first I thought it was just one of the usual funnel weavers, but when I tried to ID it, I discovered it's a Hacklemesh Weaver (one of the Amaurobiidae).

LOL! I know that some will be doing the heebyjeeby dance at the thought of me leaving it right where it is. It won't hurt us and will eat any silverfish or smaller centipedes that try to get by it.

This one is only safe if it stays really close to it's web in that gap. Spiders that wander don't last long around here with Umbreon.
