Description
The other night it was pouring so bad outside you'd have thought nothing would want to go out in it...
Yet when I open the back door, both dogs rush out to bark & whine at the fence.
They wouldn't come in. I had to throw on my shoes & a jacket & go get them! Trying to drag the big one in & my head close to the fence I hear the cause of their excitement - I hear kittens.
Once the dogs were in, I went outside the other way, between the houses to see if I could get a look.
One little kitten had somehow gotten separated & fallen over the chain-link and was crying & sputtering, on the verge of drowning in a puddle that had formed at the base of the fence.
I could hear that Murphy's law monster laughing it's butt off in my ear as fate was setting me up....
but I couldn't leave it THERE!!!
I brought it in, dried it off & checked it out.
A very small, but seems healthy,
good long black coat...
female, with no evidence of worms (but I know that's no guarantee).
I stick her on the scales -10.5 oz.
My daughter had been at her other Grandma's house, and when she came home & saw the kitten, she uttered that ancient spell feared by every parent....
she named it.
There's more on this story, but for now, let me introduce the newest member of our zoo...
