Description
Yes, I've done this type of image before with a castoff carapace from a Platycryptus Undatus,
but I just had to try with this cap from a Phidippus Audax.
I think it turned out quite nice.
LOL! I know...
the size differences in the 2 seem huge!
However that's because this carapace is not only from a bigger spider, but it's sitting on a significantly smaller pinhead.
The last time, shooting was extremely difficult due to the carapace being free to react to the presence of static charges & surrounding EM fields.
This time, the fit on the pin was snug, which made this much easier to photograph.
