It's unusual, that's for sure.
Of course, things would be a helk of a lot different if human male reproductive systems were similar to those of a male spider. 

In their world, a guy Jumping spider has to really impress the lady with his dance moves before he can even approach her...
if not, she's likely to kill & eat him.

I read one day that the lady kill the guy after sex... If it's true, it's his all dance anyway ^^

Studies have shown that the male survives the encounter roughly 70% of the time, but yes she will kill and eat him if he fails to get away in time.
The edges of his pedipalps have small hooks on the edges that fit into grooves on the opening on the underside of female. This acts like Velcro, locking them together during the transfer of the genetic material.
The male's palp often get stuck though...

and as I'm sure ya can image, it kinda spoils the "afterglow" for her when male starts tugging & yanking on her privates trying to get away.
