Thank you...

for the :+fav:s too.

LOL! Of course, I openly admit my bias, but IMHO there's nothing else like them.
A full coat Bouvier Des Flandres, freshly brushed out, has incredible presence...
Their ground consuming gate seemed effortless, yet composed of powerful, graceful strides
In motion, the coat just flowed.... like watching a rushing river.

Oh how I miss them all.

I put him in my feral innocent collection, which is another way to say wild life,  He might not be wild, but I bet he is wild at heart. Nice dog. cheers.

LOL! Yes, a dog. (You don't know how many times folks have thought I had a bear as a pet.)

The breed is called Bouvier des Flandres (roughly translated, it's "Cattle dog of Flanders").
They're a herding dog that originated along the border of France & Belgium.
They were prized by the local dairy farmers because the dog's methods didn't disturb the milking schedules.
Unlike most herding breeds, Bouvs don't "bite at the heels", but actually run up beside the cow and use body blocks to change it's direction.
Big, strong, naturally protective and dang smart...
Not only could they watch the herds without human supervision, but they were used to power the butter churns AND haul the heavy carts through the hilly terrain to market.
